Government Enforces New Ban on Fertilizers and Chemical Substances

The Ministry of Interior has officially added several fertilizers, chemicals, and powdered substances to the prohibited items list under newly introduced security regulations, according to a recent government notification.

Under the updated rules, NADRA biometric verification is now mandatory for individuals seeking access to these restricted materials. This measure aims to ensure tighter control and accountability.

The notification states that these steps have been taken in the interest of public safety, following a confidential report. It was highlighted that some of these fertilizers, acids, and powders can potentially be misused in unlawful explosive activities.

Authorities have been directed to strictly monitor the storage, sale, and handling of these restricted materials to prevent misuse.

Furthermore, if any of the listed items are lost or stolen, the concerned authorities must be informed within 24 hours.

The notification also clearly states that illegal storage, possession, or use of these fertilizers, chemicals, and powders will be treated as a criminal offense under the law.
