The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has rejected a gas supply schedule being shared on WhatsApp, saying it is false and not issued by the company.
The viral message, written in Urdu, claims that gas will be available at specific times each day—5:30 AM to 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM—and that there will be little or no gas outside these hours.
This message has spread widely on WhatsApp, especially in Karachi, causing concern among residents. In response, SSGC spokesperson Salman Ahmed Siddiqui stated that the schedule is completely fake and has no connection with the company.
He explained that SSGC only shares official updates through its website and recognized media outlets. He also mentioned that many similar fake messages are circulating online just to gain attention.
SSGC has advised the public to trust only official channels for accurate information about gas supply and related services.
