Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on Wednesday, following significant gains in the global market.
Locally, the price of gold per tola rose by Rs. 12,700 during the day, reaching Rs. 506,362. Meanwhile, 10-gram gold was traded at Rs. 434,123, up Rs. 10,888, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). On Tuesday, gold per tola had closed at Rs. 493,662, marking a single-session increase of Rs. 4,300.
On the international front, gold prices jumped by $127 to $4,840 per ounce, factoring in a $20 premium.
Silver prices also inched higher, climbing Rs. 64 to reach Rs. 9,933 per tola.
