Rain is forecasted to hit various regions across the country next week, bringing relief from the prolonged dry spell. Speaking to a private news channel, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that rain is expected around January 20, driven by winds entering Balochistan from Iran. He also mentioned that northern areas are likely to witness rain and snowfall shortly after.
However, Karachi is unlikely to experience any rainfall during this weather system. Karachi remains under a cold spell, with temperatures recorded at 12°C, according to the Meteorological Department. Strong winds are expected today, accompanied by partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours.
The city’s minimum temperature dropped to 11°C, with a maximum of 25°C anticipated. Humidity levels stand at 71%, and wind speeds are recorded at 10 km/h.
Karachi currently ranks as the sixth most polluted city in the world, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 184, signifying hazardous pollution levels. Residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their health.
