The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was not sighted in Pakistan, meaning the Islamic month will begin on Saturday, August 15.
The decision was made during a meeting of the committee in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Ministry of Science and Technology, and other relevant departments also participated and provided technical support for the moon-sighting process.
The committee reviewed reports and testimonies received from various regions of the country. After examining the available evidence, it concluded that no reliable sighting of the moon had been confirmed.
As a result, Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will commence on Saturday, August 15. The 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal will therefore be observed on Wednesday, August 26, when Muslims across Pakistan will mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) in remembrance of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
