Fuel prices in Pakistan have been raised for the second successive week as the government recently announced revised fuel prices on Friday night. This decision has been made amid increasing uncertainties in the global oil market, primarily due to rising tensions between Iran and the US. Fuel prices, specifically petrol prices, have increased by Rs. 5.44 to Rs. 316.15 per liter. Moreover, HSD has witnessed a dramatic increase of Rs. 31.05 per liter to Rs. 354.35 per liter. Later on, the Petroleum Division released an official notification about these revised rates.
It is also reported that fuel prices in Pakistan will be revised every day on a daily basis. Global oil markets continue to remain volatile, with Brent crude standing at $87 per barrel at the time of report. It has been observed that the rumors of artificial shortage of petrol led to the closure of several gas stations across the country in recent days.
