The Climate Data Processing Centre has released its prediction about the visibility of the Shaban moon in Pakistan. The centre reports that the Shaban moon will be born on January 29 at 5:36 PM. It is likely to be visible on the evening of January 30, which is a Thursday. If sighted, the first day of Shaban will be January 31, and Shab-e-Barat will be observed on February 14.
The Weather conditions during the moon sighting are expected to differ, with some regions experiencing clear skies while others may face cloud cover. The Data Centre also noted that the moon’s age at sunset will be 25 hours and 4 minutes, remaining visible for about 57 minutes after sunset.
To be visible, the moon must be at least 19 hours old, a condition that will be met on this occasion. Shab-e-Barat, observed on the 15th night of Shaban, holds great significance for Muslims worldwide. Also known as Laylat al-Bara’ah, it is considered one of the most sacred nights in the Islamic calendar.
On this night, Muslims engage in prayers, acts of charity, and fasting. Many also visit the graves of their loved ones to offer prayers, seek forgiveness for the departed, and honor their memory.
