Karachi experienced hot and humid weather throughout the day, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that this intense heat is likely to continue over the next 24 hours. People in the city are already feeling uncomfortable due to the combination of high temperatures and humidity.
The Met Office has predicted that the maximum temperature will stay between 36°C and 38°C, but because of the high moisture in the air, it may feel even hotter than the actual temperature. Such weather conditions can make daily activities difficult, especially for those who spend time outdoors.
Earlier in the day, the temperature was recorded at around 29°C, while humidity levels reached 74%, making the air feel heavy and sticky. Light westerly winds were blowing at a speed of about 3 kilometers per hour, which provided very little relief from the heat.
The PMD also mentioned that there is a possibility of rain-bearing clouds forming in the suburban areas of Karachi, which could bring slight changes in weather conditions later on. However, no significant rainfall has been confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, a weather expert has cautioned that temperatures in some parts of the city could rise to 41°C or even higher. The expert also explained that slow winds may continue to trap heat and humidity, making the weather feel even more intense for residents.
