WASA Declares Rain Alert for Rawalpindi

According to WASA Managing Director Muhammad Salim Ashraf, the agency has deployed field teams and heavy machinery to low-lying areas to prevent waterlogging and respond to any potential flooding. So far, more than 80 mm of rain has been recorded across various parts of the twin cities.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported 52 mm in Saidpur, 66 mm in Bokra, 55 mm in Shamsabad, 53 mm in Pirwadhai, 41 mm in Kutchery, 32 mm at the PMD station, and 25 mm in Golra.

WASA officials confirmed that all major drains, including Nullah Leh, are being closely monitored, and water levels remain within safe limits. At Katarian, the water level was recorded at 9 feet, while at Gawalmandi Bridge it stood at 5 feet.
