Timeliness

Time is a chain. Moments, seconds, hours, days, nights, weeks, months, years and centuries are the links of this chain that is passing through every moment. If we consider Life and time are one thing. What we call life or Hayat is the name of living within a certain time. If a person wants to make his life harmonious and orderly, he should do every task on time and make a habit of it. This is called time advance or time constraint. Otherwise, the time is flowing, neither it appears for anyone nor waits for anyone.

Time is a sword that does not stop cutting. Not even a single wasted hour of life is broken while the younger one is fighting. The sun rises on time and sets on time. It is said in Surah Rehman that “The sun and the moon are bound by a reckoning.” In Surah Yaseen, “Allah says that neither the sun alone can overtake the moon, nor can the night come before the day all are floating in their own circle”.

The principle of restriction of time is based on the change of day and night and seasons. The rotation of the planets is also time-bound. Similarly, crops, flowers and fruits also have fixed times. A farmer grows crops on time and reaps them on time. The gardener waters the plants on time and reaps back on time. Offices open and close at scheduled times. Opening hours of factories and factories are fixed. The trains run according to the time table.

Time is the most precious gift of nature. This time is the trust of Allah. Not valuing time is tantamount to betrayal of trust. Only a person can live a good life in this world who is punctual in his work. Success in the world is the destiny of one who knows the value of time instead of wasting it. Those who do not understand its value, its importance cannot achieve success in life. Those who waste their lives with great cruelty are in great oblivion. They are not wasting time, time is wasting them.

The western nations who are far ahead of us in trade, industry and craft, science and other sciences have got this position due to time constraints. On the contrary, the nations who did not recognize the value of time, progress in the race of life they are far behind the nations. It is a pity that there is very little sense of the true value of time in our country. So it is not worthy of commotion. The person who is not present in the destiny of the nation emphasizes on punctuality the most. Islam practically teaches punctuality. By fixing the time of worship, Allah has informed man that the world is temporary.

Our lives are too short. There are more tasks and less time. We have many important tasks in this life. If we are punctual now then we can accomplish more in our short life. We should take full advantage of this respite from life and understand the value of time and make full use of it.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever is better today than yesterday is better.” “Whoever has worse today than yesterday has lost everything that cannot be found.
