Caretaker Interior Minister Gohar Ejaz implied that there could be a potential internet service suspension in areas experiencing security issues on election day (tomorrow). Meanwhile, Amnesty International advocated for continuous internet access throughout the country during the polling process. The minister stated that the government would contemplate shutting down internet services on February 8 only if it receives a request from a district or province concerning the security situation.
Mr. Ejaz asserted that the caretaker government had not yet made any decision to suspend internet services on polling day and emphasized that such action would only be taken upon receiving a request from a concerned province or district.
