PSX Breaks New Record, Surpassing the 105,000 Mark

The KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 545.26 points on Wednesday, reaching a historic closing of 105,104.33 points, marking a 0.52 percent increase from the previous session.

A total of 1,749,316,877 shares were traded on Wednesday, slightly lower than the 1,766,474,377 shares traded the previous day. The total value of shares traded amounted to Rs. 50.41 billion, compared to Rs. 56.624 billion on Tuesday.

Shares of 467 companies were traded, with 258 companies seeing gains, 180 recording losses, and 29 companies’ share prices remaining unchanged.

The index’s rise was primarily driven by MARI, HUBC, AIRLINK, MTL, and PSO, which together contributed 442 points to the overall gain.
