Petrol is about to get a lot more expensive

Arif Habib Limited says HSD may get Rs. 27 per liter more expensive and petrol Rs. 21 per liter more costly because of rising tensions in the region. If this happens, petrol may cost Rs. 279–280 per liter, while high-speed diesel could rise to Rs. 289–290 per liter. These new prices are expected to take effect from July 1, 2025.

Since June 13, 2025, global prices for gas oil have risen by 9.6% and gasoline by 4.5%, reaching $93.30 and $83.40 per barrel, respectively, as of June 20, 2025.

On June 15, the federal government announced a sharp rise in petroleum prices for the final fortnight of fiscal year 2024–25. Petrol prices went up by Rs. 4.80 per liter, and high-speed diesel by Rs. 7.95 per liter.
