Exciting news has been unveiled by Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif as he announced a forthcoming pilot project set to commence on February 1. This initiative will enable individuals in Pakistan to finally open PayPal accounts, facilitating seamless international payments and providing ease of access to the renowned online payment platform.
During the four-month tenure of the Caretaker Government, Dr. Umar Saif highlighted the accomplishments of the Ministry of IT. He particularly emphasized the significant role played by the Special Investment Facilitation Council in efficiently approving projects. Dr. Saif commended the outstanding performance of the council, underscoring a noteworthy policy change allowing IT companies to retain 50% of their earnings in dollars. This move reflects the government’s dedication to supporting the technology industry.
Responding to a persistent concern among freelancers, the Caretaker IT Minister has announced a resolution to a significant issue concerning the digital payment gateway. Commencing on February 1, a pilot project will be initiated, allowing the creation of 10,000 accounts specifically tailored for freelancers. This initiative aims to provide freelancers with the convenience of receiving funds through PayPal, addressing a longstanding challenge in the digital payment landscape.
