Notification Issued Regarding Gas Price Increase

In accordance with IMF conditions, the government has released a notification to raise gas prices by 67%. As a result, protected consumers will now be required to pay fixed charges amounting to Rs400 per month, along with a meter rent of Rs40 per month.

Ogra has unveiled a new gas price schedule for Sui Northern and Sui Southern. As per the notification, the minimum price for protected domestic consumers will be Rs200 per mmbtu, while the maximum price for this category will be Rs350 per mmbtu.

The notification states that for non-protected domestic consumers, the gas price will range from Rs500 to Rs4300 per mmbtu. Additionally, non-protected users will be charged monthly fixed fees ranging from Rs1000 to Rs2000. Bulk meters and capacitive power will have a gas rate of Rs2900 per mmbtu.

As per the notification, tandoors will be charged between Rs110 and Rs700 per mmbtu for gas usage. Gas rates for commercial consumers have been set at Rs3900 per mmbtu. For the CNG sector, the gas price is fixed at Rs3750 per mmbtu, and needle gas for cement factories will see an increase to Rs4400 per mmbtu.

As per the notification, the gas price for needle gas supplied to fertilizer factories has been set at Rs1597 per mmbtu, while gas rates for power plants have been fixed at Rs1050 per mmbtu.
