Due to Ashura-related processions and public gatherings, the Metro Bus route between Saddar Station and Faizabad in Rawalpindi has been temporarily halted as a preventive security measure.
Officials confirmed that the Rawalpindi district administration ordered the suspension to ensure public safety.
In contrast, Islamabad’s Metro Bus service remains active between IJP Road and the Pak Secretariat, providing uninterrupted transit in that corridor.
However, Islamabad’s Blue and Green Line metro services have been non-operational for the last two days due to similar security concerns during the month of Muharram.
In Karachi, the BRT and Peoples Bus Services have also been put on hold from 8th to 10th Muharram amid increased security alerts across the city.
