Maryam Nawaz announced an insulin delivery program for children with Type-1 diabetes

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a new initiative to deliver insulin directly to the homes of children with Type-1 diabetes. She shared plans to introduce special cards to ensure a steady insulin supply for affected children.

The government-approved company will manage the insulin distribution, ensuring adherence to cold chain protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The pilot project will start in three districts, including Lahore, with applications accessible via a dedicated app or helpline.

Maryam Nawaz also ordered that Basic Health Units (BHUs) be renamed to ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics’ to improve healthcare in rural areas. She approved a system to track the performance of healthcare staff using specific goals and measures.
