Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a free laptop program for students across the province. He assured that the distribution ratio will be maintained on par with Punjab, ensuring equal opportunities for students in KP.
Gandapur emphasized, “If Punjab allocates laptops to a specific proportion of students, we will do the same.” Additionally, he urged Punjab’s administration to introduce a free health insurance scheme similar to the one implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Gandapur underscored KP’s healthcare initiatives, stating, “Our entire population is covered under the Sehat Card Plus, and we have now introduced life insurance as well.” He urged Punjab to provide similar benefits to its residents.
Highlighting KP’s economic performance, he claimed a 55% increase in provincial revenue despite economic challenges, contrasting it with Punjab’s 12% growth and advising them to match KP’s progress. Regarding fiscal management, he asserted that KP had achieved a budget surplus of Rs176 billion, making it the only province to meet IMF targets.
Gandapur criticized Punjab’s financial management, highlighting that while the province was assigned an IMF surplus target of Rs300 billion, it instead ended up with a deficit of Rs146 billion.
Additionally, he announced a financial aid initiative for underprivileged brides, pledging support for the weddings of 4,000 deserving girls, each receiving Rs200,000. Challenging Punjab’s governance, he remarked, “I am open to a debate. Their performance does not even compare to 1% of ours.”
