Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Karachi from February 29th

Residents of Karachi should prepare for another cold spell as the Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced the possibility of heavy rainfall, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, starting from February 29th. The Met Office predicts widespread torrential rainfall across the country from Thursday onwards, expected to persist until March 2nd.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms in several cities of Sindh, including Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, and Thatta, on February 29th and March 1st. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are also anticipated during this period, according to the PMD.

The weather department has indicated that Balochistan is likely to experience widespread heavy rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms in cities such as Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, and other areas on February 29th and March 1st.

Expect heavy to extremely heavy rain with thunderstorms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), including Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and others from February 29 to March 3. Similar conditions in Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir. In Punjab, anticipate widespread heavy rain with windstorms in Lahore, Murree, Rawalpindi, and other areas.
