The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday across the province on the first day of Muharram to mark the start of the Islamic New Year.
According to an official notification from the provincial authorities, the holiday will be observed on 1st Muharram 1447 AH, subject to the sighting of the new moon as confirmed by the Central Ruet‑e‑Hilal Committee.
